Who We Are

3 Kings Project started the way so many things do—in living rooms, at kitchen tables, in the spaces where community naturally comes together. Before it had a name, before it was an organization, it was simply about people looking out for each other. In 2007, Marcus, our founder, began gathering folks who needed a place to be seen, to be heard, and to be cared for. What started as conversations and support grew into something bigger, because the need was bigger.

By 2020, what had once been informal had to become intentional. The disparities we had long witnessed—gaps in healthcare, lack of resources, and systemic barriers—were impossible to ignore. So, we made it official. 3 Kings Project was built to ensure that people in historically overlooked communities, particularly in rural areas and the South, could access the support they deserve.

Our name holds deep meaning. It honors three lives that shaped our journey—three chosen family members whose strength, love, and resilience continue to inspire everything we do. They remind us that none of us do this alone. Their memory fuels our mission: to make sure no one is left without care, community, or the resources to thrive.

What We Do & How We Do It

We don’t just talk about change—we show up. Our work is hands-on, rooted in trust, and shaped by the people we serve. We partner with local leaders, organizations, and healthcare providers to meet communities where they are. That means bringing resources directly to those who need them most, from health screenings to education, from advocacy to direct aid.

We focus on breaking cycles—of poor health outcomes, of exclusion, of limited access. By addressing root causes, we’re not just filling gaps; we’re building pathways to lasting change.

Why We Do It

Because health is a right, not a privilege. Because where you live shouldn’t determine whether you get the care you need. Because no one should feel invisible.

We do this work because we’ve lived it. We know what it’s like to navigate systems that weren’t built for us. We know how isolating it can feel to not see yourself reflected in the services meant to help. And we believe that real change happens when communities lead the way—when solutions come from those who understand the struggles firsthand.

This is personal. This is about people. This is about making sure that no one is left behind.

If you believe in that too, there’s a place for you here.
